James is a critically acclaimed and award-winning director of Documentaries, Commercials and Music Videos.
He began a career in broadcast documentary, before achieving global recognition with his first feature doc, Mission to Lars. This critical smash was supported by Film 4, released theatrically across the world and received BAFTA recognition. He’s currently developing his first dramatic feature.
James’s move into music videos and commercials was an instant success, directing several breakthrough videos for Catfish and the Bottlemen as well as for The Wombats, The Leisure Society and Tunng, amongst others.
He has directed commercial films for Santander, BBC, Nike, Nespresso and TAG. Most recently he won a BT sports industry award for his Hugo Boss Mast Walk spot.
